Video Editor Intern

May - August 2021 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I loved the relationship I built with Elaine and the other interns. We had weekly meetings that were pretty laidback but we also were very hardworking. I learned a lot about how to refine my video editing skills and I built more professional connections.

What I wish was different

Honestly, I can't think of anyone that I wish had been different.

Advice

Write down notes during meetings, create a schedule of video upload dates, and have a designated space in your home for remote working!

Graphic Design Intern

May - August 2021 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I loved the flexibility that this internship offered by being remote. While this was a completely remote internship, we had weekly meetings with Elaine and occasional meetings with all of the interns to get to know each other and discuss our experiences. I learned a lot about social media content creation, analytics, and management,

What I wish was different

I can't think of anything I wish was different. It was a very encouraging and welcoming environment.

Advice

Create a schedule for yourself. Take notes during meetings, even if you think you will remember the week's responsibilities. Ask questions if you have them: there's no such thing as a stupid question.

Social Media Intern

February - September 2021 • Itasca, IL

What I liked

I had a great time working with Elaine and the LadyBossBlogger interns. Elaine is welcoming and patient, her tasks are straightforward and if there is any confusion she addresses it right away. I learned many social media tools and skills that could readily transfer to other professions. Overall this internship gave me great insight into the world of entrepreneurship and what it takes to make something come to life.

What I wish was different

I had a great experience overall! The only thing I wish was different is that I’d hope we could collaborate with the other intern teams and learn a little about what they are doing to gain some of those skills that could be helpful in future professional positions.

Advice

Ask a lot of questions, communication is everything! If you don’t understand something or are having trouble, let your team know. No need to be stressed! Take quantifiable note of the tasks you completed to use it in interviews/resumes and examples of your work.
