I loved sharing my passion for the University of Pittsburgh with incoming students and perspective students. It was a wonderful time to relax and explore the city of Pittsburgh, while also taking additional classes on the side.

Being a panelist and peer advisor is really dependent on putting yourself out there and being relatable. Parents and students appreciate a real and compelling student to relate to and its impossible without stepping outside of a comfort zone and being a person first and an office worker second.

What I liked
I liked being able to discuss my research with people from all disciplines and also learn about what they were working on this summer. Everyone's project was so different from each other's and each was very interesting.
What I wish was different
I wish that there had been more workshops on how to present my research. We had a few but I still didn't feel fully prepared for my final presentation.

The more you put into your summer of research, the more you'll get out of it!

I really liked getting involved on campus when not a lot of students are on campus. I also loved meeting and working with the higher ups in the university. My absolute favorite part was welcoming all the new students and making Pitt's campus feel like home.

It was a wonderful experience, I just wish they would've provided housing.
