Job Description

 

 

 

Do you love fabrication and using power tools? The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking a  Sign Fabricator 1.  The Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mission is Making Lives Better Through Transportation. As a Sign Fabricator 1, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Hand-applying layout of text and symbols for road signs using blueprints.
  • Silk Screening Road signs.
  • Operation of a squeeze roller to apply reflective sheeting to substrate of signage.
  • Inventory & Warehousing of raw material and finished signs using a barcode radio system.
  • Using tools such as tape measures, rollers, scissors, saws, drill presses, grinders, sanders, power tools, and shearers in the manufacturing of signage.
  • Customer service.
  • Understand and apply OSHA standards.
  • Understand and apply MSDS contents.
  •  

Location: Sign Shop – Ames Iowa

Shift Requirements: Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Requirements: 

  • Forklift Certification
