Working Job Title: Student Retail Sales and Merchandising Associate

Student Job Classification: S310/Sales Work

About this job:

The Wild Rose Gift Shop has openings for a student Sales Associate to work in the Wild Rose Gift Shop, Kaleidoscope Gift Shop, Retail Storeroom, and Rooftop Café to perform basic retail and customer service functions.

Duties to include:

·      Cashiering-receiving payment for purchases

·      Assist in inventory management

·      Receive, unpack, store and stock merchandise

·      Work closely with Retail Manager to merchandise product collections

·      Assist in daily operating procedures including basic office duties

·      Answering and directing phone calls, taking orders for delivery

·      Provide excellent customer service

You can expect to learn skills such as time management, balancing priorities, attention to detail, interpersonal communication, customer service experience, working with people from diverse backgrounds and working as part of a team. Although your student job at UIHC may not be directly related to your future profession, the skills you learn here will help you in your chosen career path and give you valuable work experience to strengthen your resume. 

 

Qualifications:

·      Ability to work with a diverse staff and customer base

·      Excellent Customer Service

 

Rate of Pay

$13.50/hour starting hourly wage, with potential for increases and promotions based on job promotions, performance, and longevity.

 

Required Availability: 

·      Must be available some weekends.

·      Available for Fall Semester 2025 & Spring Semester 2026

 

Please include your shift availability for weekdays and weekends. Currently hiring for student with majority daytime availability Monday-Friday

Flexible Shifts available:

6:45am - 8:00pm Monday - Friday

10:00am-6:00pm Saturday & Sunday.
