
Student IT Consultant
The ITS Extended Technical Support group is looking for a reliable Student IT Consultant to support full-time IT staff across campus. The student IT Consultant will also participate in projects such as computer imaging, hardware refreshes, and inventory maintenance.
Required qualifications
• A great customer service attitude. • Troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify root causes. • Technical curiosity and a desire and willingness to learn • Physical ability to routinely move, carry and transport computer equipment up to 50 pounds.
Criminal background check will be conducted on finalist.
Desired qualifications
• Experience using computer operating systems such as Microsoft Windows and Mac OS. • Experience using desktop applications such as Microsoft Office. • Experience using e-mail systems and internet technologies. • Good written and verbal communication. • Good interpersonal skills. • Knowledge of University technologies and systems, such as Hawk ID, UI Wireless, ResNet, and Remote Access. • Previous experience providing IT support.
- Valid driver’s license and compliance with University Driving Policy standards (see https://riskmanagement.fo.uiowa.edu/vehicle-use#DLRS ) . A three year U.S. driving history (including instruction permit) would be necessary in order to drive on behalf of the University.
Required Work Schedule
Up to 20 hours/week, will work around school schedule. Schedule will be between the hours of 8:00 am-5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
