Hydration Tech Student Assistant

Job Details:

The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks to hire 2-3 students to assist in the Jacobsen Athletic Building for the  2025/26 academic year.

The purpose of this job is to aid in all aspects of hydration and upkeep of the Jaconbsen athletic training facility.  The qualified person will report in a timely manner to scheudled shifts ready to complete the assigned duties by the athletic training staff.  The successful applicants will possess a high degree of trust, integrity, work ethic, and responsibility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Arrives at designated time and be prepared to work.
  • Maintains a positive work attitude and is responsive to direction.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality about all aspects of football practice
  • Follow HIPAA/FERPA - online training available
  • Follow directions for successful distribution of hydration.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure the safety of student athletes with successful handling of equipment.
  • Report problems in a timely manner with utmost discretion to the appropriate person.
  • All communication with student athletes is related to your role as a hydration technician.
  • Must be able to list 50 pounds above the waist.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Organize taping station.
  • Take laundry to equipment room.
  • Fold and restock towels.
  • Clean rehab equipment.
  • Make water/Powerade and deliver to team practices.
  • Clean and store coolers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Injuries:

  • Report all injuries or potential injuries to athletic trainers.
  • This position requires no interactions on injuries.
