Risk Solutions Intern

TrueNorth is looking for a Risk Solutions Intern to work with our Risk Solutions Team. If you’re looking to grow in areas such as collaboration, project management, and problem-solving, this might be the role for you! The Risk Solutions Intern will gain hands-on experience in safety, risk management, and claims handling, working closely with our team to support real client initiatives and contribute to meaningful risk-reduction strategies.
Our internship program is a 11-week paid program, running May – August 2026. This position will be fully on site in our Cedar Rapids, IA office.
As a Risk Solutions Intern, You Will:
- Collect and analyze claims data and problem solve on potential solutions to reduce risk.
- Create reports after client meetings.
- Provide educational resources and materials
- Conduct onsite consultative visits with Risk Solutions team.
Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Must be of Junior or Senior status, currently pursuing a degree or certificate in Occupational Safety, Risk Management, Insurance, or related field
- Proficient in OSHA, EPA, DNR, or DOT a plus
- Prior internship or job experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- The ability to work successfully in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ideal candidates will have a genuine interest in the insurance industry
