Credit Analyst Internship – Summer 2026 

                   

About this position

 

The GreatAmerica internship program is designed to recruit the best and brightest accounting/finance students from college campuses in order to build GreatAmerica bench strength in the Credit Function.  Our internship program allows students to gain firsthand exposure to what a career in risk analysis is like.  Also, our internships often turn into full-time employment opportunities for students!

 

Do you want to be challenged every day?  As a credit intern you will gain the practical experience of analyzing the risk in businesses across a variety of industries by evaluating their credit, economic conditions, and financial situation. You will have the exciting challenge of making actual decisions on lending money. 

 

Do you want to work in a fast-paced environment? As a credit intern you will perform the same activities as a  full-time analyst. This includes analyzing and making decisions on 10 – 15 loan applications each day. These applications can be for automotive repair, construction, healthcare, copier, data or communication equipment for companies across the U.S. Our best interns are eager to learn, self-starters, excel at thinking on their feet while making sound lending decisions.

 

Do you want to be part of a team? Credit Analyst Interns become part of a cross functional team that includes individuals from sales, account support, documentation, and credit functions working toward common goals. The cross functional nature of our teams allows individuals to make informed decisions that benefit the company and our customers.

 

Education, experience and skills required

  • We seek students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business or a related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Understanding of finance and financial statements is a plus.
  • You must possess excellent analytical ability, enjoy making individual decisions, and have the ability to process information quickly.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills are a must as GreatAmerica takes pride in providing an excellent customer experience during every interaction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
