Internships will run from mid-May to early August
Interviews and hiring decisions expect to be completed prior to mid-November, with some being completed as early as late September. Qualified candidates must be enrolled at an accredited college or university for Fall term 2026.
As a Public Relations intern at Athene, you will gain hands-on experience in corporate communications and stakeholder engagement, working on projects that help drive broader awareness of Athene’s business and reputation. You will support initiatives across media relations, corporate marketing, corporate responsibility, government relations, and investor relations, building both professional and personal skills necessary to thrive in a corporate environment.

Job Description
- Assist in identifying earned media opportunities (proactive and reactive) and learn best practices for engaging with media outlets.
- Research and identify newsworthy content for distribution to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate on strategies and tactics to amplify Athene’s corporate voice across communication channels.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Internal Communications, Investor Relations, Government Relations, etc.) to deliver consistent messaging to target audiences.
- Conduct media monitoring and analytics, providing insights and reporting on coverage and trends.
- Support the alignment of Athene’s engagement calendar with key external organizations and industry events.
- Contribute to strategic audits of communications practices and recommend improvements.
- Deliver a 10-week strategic project, culminating in a presentation to management on an assigned external relations topic.
Qualifications And Experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail and clarity.
- Familiarity with AP Style and demonstrated ability to adapt tone for different audiences.
- Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills, able to work effectively on a team and independently.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite; experience with analytics tools or media monitoring platforms is a plus.
- Creative thinker and problem-solver with an eagerness to learn and take initiative.
