Research Analyst Internship - Aegon AM
PLEASE NOTE: We are looking to hire one (1) full-time, summer of 2026 intern, with the intern working out of our Cedar Rapids, IA office and under a hybrid work model. We are unable to hire on a remote, work-from-home basis. This internship is not available for students who have completed their college undergraduate education or who will graduate prior to the conclusion of the internship.

Internship Overview:
Within the fixed income platform, the Research Analyst Internship is structured to develop the candidate’s quantitative and analytical skills as it relates to investing in corporate bonds and bank loans. The candidate will be given the opportunity to develop their credit research skill set through formal and informal training that includes a credit training program as well as coverage of a small universe of companies. As part of the internship, the candidate will interact and develop relationships with senior credit analysts, portfolio managers and other members of the investment team. In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to further enhance the credit research process through some project work.
Responsibilities:
- Develop an understanding of fundamental credit research through the credit training program that concludes with a presentation to members of the investment team.
- Provide support to the existing credit research team, including, but not limited to, updating financial models and other ad hoc research requests.
- Assist in the coverage of a small universe of companies, including the analysis of earnings, news, financials, and other relevant information.
- Maintain spreadsheets and databases that support the investment process.
- Complete projects to further enhance the overall credit research process.
This would be your future internship because you:
- Are currently enrolled full-time at a college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree (Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Accounting major preferred).
- Have familiarity with financial statement analysis.
- Exhibit strong written & verbal communications communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Are detailed-oriented.
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Bloomberg.
