Program Facilitator Internship - Gap Year or Blended
Overview: Camp Fitch YMCA, a large year-round resident camp on the shores of Lake Erie serving over 8,000 children a year ages 7 - 15, is seeking dynamic and motivated difference makers to lead and innovate program during the fall and spring semesters. The program utilizes hands-on, challenged based STEAM learning to help children and teens integrate nature with their classroom learning and develop leadership skills. Join our dynamic team that makes a difference in children’s lives through teaching classes, leading groups, and creating innovations to our programs.
*Room and Board is included
*Interns can also be enrolled in online classes to continue degree work
Duties & Responsibilities:
*Lead and teach programs and activities for school groups grades 3 - 12.
*Lead program as a group host who creates schedules, leads communication with the group’s
Volunteer Organizer, and facilitates goals and objectives of the group(s).
*Create innovations and upgrades for program areas.
*Facilitate the growth of volunteers to support the execution of the group experience.
*Serve as ambassadors to all Camp Fitch programs through actively outreaching
to potential customers and volunteers.
*Model the stewardship of camp facilities through proactive improvements.

- High School degree or significant and related life experience.
- Personal commitment to servant leadership and core YMCA values.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Attain required training within 90 days, CPR/O2/FA, New Staff Orientation, Child Abuse Prevention, Blood Borne Pathogens.
