Financial Advisor Intern

Financial Advisor Summer Internship Program – Geneva, IL

This 10-week paid internship combines classroom-based learning with real-world application, providing a comprehensive introduction to the financial services profession within the independent channel.

Program Overview

Interns will:

  • Participate in structured classroom instruction focused on financial planning, investment concepts, client communication, and business development.
  • Work side-by-side with an experienced mentor to gain firsthand exposure to the daily activities of a financial advisor.
  • Receive paid training and licensing support for the FINRA SIE Exam.
  • Complete the LIMRA Career Profile+ assessment to evaluate personal strengths and fit for the profession.
  • Earn weekly compensation with the potential for a performance-based bonus at program completion.

Program Structure

The internship blends: 

  • Classroom Learning – Core instruction in topics such as investment products, retirement and insurance planning, compliance, and client discovery. 

 

  • Field Experience – Shadowing advisors, attending client meetings, and participating in business development activities. 

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Rising junior or senior in a bachelor’s program, or recent graduate with an interest in finance, economics, business, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong initiative, professionalism, and desire to build a client-focused career.
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a hybrid environment (classroom and field).
