Paid Summer College Internship in Social Services (NYC)

DOROT’s Summer College Internship is great way to gain hands-on experience in social work, nonprofit management and other related fields, while making a real impact, by supporting older adults in the community. The internship cohort works together and alongside the DOROT staff – learning from one another, while providing support to the aging community through various programs and projects that DOROT offers.

All internship positions will be hybrid. Interns will work four or five days per week, depending on their track, and will be expected to work from home on days they are not in the office.

Internship Structure

DOROT’s Summer College Internship Program runs 10 or 11 weeks, depending on one’s track and is open to students entering their sophomore, junior and senior years of study in the fall. The internship begins with a two-day orientation to prepare students for their roles and further introduce them to DOROT as well as their individual departments. Throughout the summer, interns are active participants at regularly scheduled professional development workshops, department and cohort meetings and one-on-one supervision sessions with their direct supervisors. For more information about the structure of the internship, etc., please click here and scroll to the FAQs section.
