Student EKG Tech – UI Heart and Vascular Center

Position Summary:

The UI Heart and Vascular Center is seeking student EKG Tech to provide limited direct patient care to EKG patients.

Position Responsibilities:

•       MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK HOLIDAYS AND DURING DESIGNATED UNIVERSITY BREAKS (including but not limited to summer, fall & winter).

•       Perform EKG testing on UI Healthcare patients throughout the hospital. 

•       Walking mobile heart patients under the supervision of staff assessing functionality, signs/symptoms, and vitals. 

•       All age-populations included.

•       Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Requirement:

• Pre-med, Nursing, or Health Science students preferred. 

Experience Requirement:

• Direct patient care and/or experience with EKG testing preferred. 

Certification/Licensure Requirement:

• Knowledge of cardiovascular system/anatomy desired. 
• Knowledge of University policies and procedures desired.
