SAP - Systems Development & Analytics - Solution Engineer

The SAP Professional Services (SPS) division at CONTAX, Inc. specializes in the implementation and support of SAP business systems for clients ranging from small businesses to large enterprises.

As a Solution Engineer in the Systems Development & Analytics practice area, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and supporting SAP technical/programming solutions for customers across North America.

 

The duties and responsibilities for this position include:

  • Consulting, troubleshooting issues, and recommending solutions utilizing software development within: SAP ABAP programming, SAP output processing, EDI, and forms
  • Interpreting business needs and product requirements into technical designs and solutions for customers
  • Adapting to constantly evolving customer needs and technical requirements
  • Working as part of a team to implement SAP for companies in manufacturing and distribution
  • Developing and testing the SAP software application
  • Supporting existing customers running SAP with enhancements, optimization, and improvements to technical solutions
  • Delivering projects within timelines and budgets
  • Assisting customers with optimizing their use of their business software through the development of solutions, knowledge transfer, and expert guidance
  • Proactively seeking professional development opportunities to enhance the ability to service business and technical needs of our customers

 

For entry-level hires into this position, CONTAX provides initial training and mentoring to build core SAP business and technical knowledge. The expected salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000/year.

 

CONTAX offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, optional dental and vision plans, and a 401(k) plan. New employees will be eligible for paid holidays, prorated paid vacation based on their start date, and other leave options.

 

Start Date: June 2026

 

Requirements

The requirements for this position include:

  • Work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer i.e., are legally eligible to work in The United States via U.S. citizenship, permanent resident status, etc.
  • Residency (or planned residency) within the U.S. state(s) of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, or Wisconsin by the anticipated start date
  • Regular in-person attendance at the CONTAX Chicago office, with selected remote days
  • Willingness to travel within North America when required (10%)

 

Interview travel expenses/relocation assistance are not available.

 

Preferred skills and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business field
  • Self-driven and proactive nature
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An ability to work well individually as well as within a team
  • An affinity for problem-solving and designing solutions
  • An interest in understanding, designing, and improving on solutions
  • Effective documentation abilities
  • Familiarity with business processes such as manufacturing, sales, distribution, or accounting
  • Programming experience (SQL, Java, C++, etc.)
  • Experience working with a business software application such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, Epicor, NetSuite, or Infor
