The Department of Community and Behavioral Health at the University of Iowa College of Public Health is hiring an MPH student to assist in community-engaged research projects relating to immunization and cancer prevention and control. The hourly position (10-20 hours/week at $20/hour) will provide support on these projects, and include the following activities:

 

  • Organize, attend, and contribute to meetings
  • Take notes and create summaries of meetings
  • Identify community contacts relevant to projects
  • Develop one-pagers, flyers, fact sheets, toolkits, and recruitment materials
  • Support study recruitment 
  • Conduct literature reviews
  • Assist in the drafting reports, scientific abstracts, manuscripts, posters and presentations
  • Contribute to the development of surveys and interview guides
  • Review and test surveys before distributing
  • Conduct and analyze interviews
  • Attend conferences and/or webinars relevant to projects

 

Competitive applicants should have the following:

 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft software, Zoom, and Canva
  • Experience in qualitative research
  • Solid writing skills
  • High level of organizational skills
  • Experience in professional communication
  • Ability to work independently and in groups in a fully remote environment
  • Be a self-starter, self-motivated and collaborative
