Student Research Administrative Associate - Radiology
The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Radiology is seeking a part-time Student Research Administrative Associate to provide general healthcare administrative/clerical duties and assist the members of the Radiology department in provision of efficient and safe patient care.
The ideal candidate will have a healthcare/medical terminology background or interest in the healthcare field and will have availability to work around 20 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 12:00pm - 5:00pm.
Job Duties include:
- Coordinate visits of research participants: Encountering participants, have them complete MRI screening sheets, direct them to changing rooms, and coordination with MR technologists.
- Help with participant recruitment for development and evaluation of new imaging protocols.
- Manage laundry delivery and pickup from loading dock
- Ensure paperwork is complete and uploaded to scheduling system.
- Help with MRI room prep
- Other duties as assigned.
Schedule: Clinic is open Monday – Friday 8am-5pm. Exact schedule is flexible and will incorporate student availability but is preferred to be Mon-Fri, 12:00pm to 5:00pm. Maximum 20 hours per week during the academic semesters, 40 hours per week during breaks.
* Applicants looking to work between 10-20 hours during the academic semesters and up to 40 hours/week through the academic breaks (i.e., Spring, Summer) preferred.
Pay: $15/hour
This position is located within the University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center University Campus at 200 Hawkins Drive in Iowa City. Health screening compliances and patient medical health record trainings will be required at the time of hire. Hands on training provided.
Qualifications:
- Must be currently registered as an undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Iowa
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, faculty, patients, and the public.
- Proficient in operating standard office equipment (e.g., computer, printer, scanner, fax machine, multi-line telephone)
- Knowledge of office software programs such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, as well as electronic meeting platforms such as Skype for Business and Zoom.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work at least 10 hours/week highly preferred.
- Ability to work 5-hour blocks highly preferred.
- Ability to work over breaks highly preferred.
