OVPR Research Administration Assistant
OVPR Research Administration Assistants are the first point of contact for visits and inquiries to a cabinet-level office at the University of Iowa. You will interact daily with high-ranking officials from throughout the University and be assigned projects that require a great attention to detail.
Basic job functions include opening and closing the office, meeting setup and coverage, greeting and directing visitors and dignitaries, answering and redirecting telephone calls, maintaining and ordering supplies, as well as oversight of other daily operations for the office including calendar management.
In addition to basic office functions, the Research Administration Assistant will develop their professional skillset through their interactions with University of Iowa officials, expand their computer proficiency through assigned projects, and gain an in-depth understanding what it is like to work in a professional office setting.
Applicants must be dependable with a pleasant demeanor and excellent communication skills, possess general computer skills in the Microsoft Office Suite, and be able take initiative.
NOTE TO APPLICANTS: Flexible work hours are available between the hours of 8:00am and 5pm Monday through Friday. Preference will be given to applicants with the ability to work four plus hours per shift either starting at 8:00 am or finishing at 5:00 pm. Applicants available to work shifts of a minimum of four hours are preferred.
