Business Development Intern

Zywave’s rapid growth in the marketplace requires eager college students keen to explore what a sales path could look & feel like at Zywave where interns will grow into roles maintaining and expanding revenue through the sales and marketing of Zywave’s product suite to brokers and their clients. This is a great opportunity for an eager, detail-oriented young professional to contribute to the success of an assigned sales region by supporting Account Executives of all account sizes.

What You Will Do / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist Account Executives & Business Development with pipeline management by conducting cold calling or email campaigns with the goal of setting meetings with decision makers.
  • Coordinate calendars for sales team and customer contacts, manage online and in person meeting invitations and create new meetings 
  • Profile existing accounts to better understand the scope of their existing tech stack
  • Send follow up emails and collateral as instructed by sales account executives.
  • Conduct cold calling campaigns with ability to set meetings with decision makers.
  • Effectively conduct online research to identify prospects and understand strategic relationships.
  • Prepare marketing and meeting collateral for distribution by sales team.
  • Escalate client issues to internal resources as needed and ensure appropriate follow up.
  • Assist in issuing electronic contracts for signature and monitor open contracts for completion.
  • Analyze sales data and activity of the region and generate necessary team reports.
  • Assist with planning and administering team competitions and incentives.
  • Thorough data tracking of all sales related activities and client interactions in SFDC.
  • Maintain working knowledge of extensive product suite, competitors and industry trends/topics.
  • Build relationships with peers to exchange best practices and solve problems cross functionally.

  • Team player with high level of dedication.
  • Coachable and willing to take direction from manager or mentor.
  • Cold calling experience/aptitude with strong verbal and written communication skills to persuade, influence and incite action to advance opportunities.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
  • Demonstrated computer systems knowledge, including web technologies, SFDC, pricing tools and communication portals.
