UI REACH-Career Program Assistant
About the Role
The Career Program Assistant supports college‑age students with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they develop career goals, workplace readiness skills, and internship success. This is a person‑centered, student‑focused position working in classroom, community, and one‑to‑one settings.
This role is a great fit for students interested in education, human services, social work, psychology, vocational rehabilitation, or related fields.
What You’ll Do
Support students with career development and workplace readiness skills
Assist with job coaching and navigation support at internship sites
Help students use problem‑solving strategies and workplace accommodations
Model appropriate professional and social behaviors
Collaborate with career staff and internship site supervisors
Assist with person‑centered planning related to student career goals
Complete documentation, evaluations, and case notes
Attend required trainings and meetings
Required Qualifications
Strength‑based, student‑centered mindset
Ability to adapt and work in dynamic environments
Availability during daytime hours (Mon–Fri); some evenings
Strong communication and professionalism
Ability to pass a criminal background check
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with individuals with disabilities
Experience in job coaching, mentoring, tutoring, or individualized support
