Business Office Assistant

Position Summary
The University of Iowa College of Dentistry Business Office is seeking two dependable and detail‑oriented student office workers to support daily administrative and financial operations. These positions provide valuable exposure to university business processes, healthcare administration, and a professional office environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support to Business Office staff
  • Assist with data entry, filing, scanning, and document organization
  • Support basic financial and revenue cycle–related tasks as assigned (e.g., tracking paperwork, organizing reports, assisting with invoice documentation)
  • Answer phones, greet visitors, and route inquiries appropriately
  • Assist with mail distribution and office supply organization
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive student, patient, or financial information
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a University of Iowa student
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook or similar)
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in business, healthcare administration, finance, accounting, or related fields
  • Prior office or customer service experience
  • Familiarity with professional office settings or university systems

Work Schedule & Hours

  • Flexible scheduling around academic commitments
  • Up to 20 hours per week, in‑office
  • Hours scheduled during standard business hours, Monday–Friday
