Environmental Services Student Coordinator
This position entails auditing the thoroughness of environmental cleaning at Medical Center Downtown, focusing on unoccupied patient care rooms and evaluating the performance of hospital staff in their cleaning duties. The job offers a flexible work schedule of up to 20 hours per week, providing an excellent opportunity to understand the impact of the environment on patient outcomes. The candidate will collaborate closely with the Department of Hospital Epidemiology, contributing to the creation and analysis of reports.
The Environmental Services (EVS) Student Project Coordinator may be asked to assist with the following tasks:
- Utilize EVS software to map out the University of Iowa Medical Center Downtown Campus
- Use entered data to help build staffing plans and communicate data
- Provide quality assurance support within the department
- Complete random inspections or cleanliness audits around the hospital
- Propose process improvements
- Assist with organization and delivery of training materials
- This position will be receiving support and guidance from EVS and hospital support services management
- Candidates must be willing to work in the Hospital environment, specifically at the University of Iowa Medical Center Downtown Campus
- Candidates must be self-motivated and willing to learn about the world of infection prevention within the healthcare setting.
