About BCC Advisers
BCC Advisers is a Des Moines-based financial advisory firm providing investment banking and business valuation services to privately held companies and their owners. Our investment banking team works primarily with middle-market businesses, advising owners through significant transactions such as the sale of a company, an acquisition, or an ownership transition. As a smaller, experienced team, we work closely with our clients throughout the process and take a hands-on approach to understanding their businesses, evaluating alternatives, and helping them make well-informed decisions.
About the Role
We are seeking an Investment Banking Analyst to join our Des Moines team. The analyst will support a small deal team with financial analysis, research, transaction materials, due diligence, and process management. The role is well suited for someone who enjoys working with financial information, understanding businesses and their value drivers, conducting research, and developing well-supported analysis from complex information. The analyst will have opportunities to participate in client and buyer discussions early in their career and, as experience develops, take on increasing responsibility for financial analysis, transaction execution, and client communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze historical financial statements, operating results, projections, and business trends to identify key performance drivers, financial trends, and potential transaction considerations.
- Prepare confidential information memorandums, presentations, financial analyses, and other transaction materials.
- Conduct company, industry, and buyer research to identify relevant market information, transaction considerations, and prospective buyers, summarizing findings for the deal team.
- Support the due diligence process, including organization of data room materials, coordination of information requests, and preparation of responses to buyer questions.
- Track project timelines, buyer activity, deadlines, and follow-up items.
- Participate in client and buyer meetings and help capture key information and next steps.
- Review financial analyses, transaction materials, and supporting information for accuracy, completeness, and internal consistency.
- Develop technical and transaction expertise through hands-on deal experience, mentoring, internal training, and structured professional development.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with accounting preferred, or expected completion prior to the position’s start date; minimum GPA of 3.5 and a strong financial statement foundation.
- Recent graduate or professional with up to two years of experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify relevant information, evaluate financial and business issues, and develop well-reasoned conclusions.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to develop clear financial analyses and professional presentation materials.
- High attention to detail, sound judgment, and an ability to identify what information matters.
- Hard-working, dependable, accountable, and willing to take initiative.
- Curious about businesses, financial performance, and the reasons behind the numbers.
- Receptive to feedback, committed to improving, and comfortable contributing as part of a team.

- Opportunities to work directly with experienced investment banking professionals, business owners, and buyers early in your career
- Mentoring and training designed to build financial analysis, transaction, and client-service skills
- Increasing responsibility and client involvement as your skills and experience develop
- A collaborative, team-oriented environment offering challenging professional work and opportunities for long-term career growth
- Competitive benefits package, including PTO, health and dental insurance, 401(k), long-term disability, and life insurance
