We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Intern to join our dynamic finance team. Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, and non-profit organizations.
- Support the team with tax research related to estate planning, wills, trusts & estate law, and securities law.
- Help with the reconciliation of accounts such as balance sheets, general ledger accounts, and bank statements using accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, or similar tools.
- Contribute to the analysis of financial data including debits & credits, account reconciliation, and financial report writing.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and interpret financial data for management review.
- Collaborate on projects involving corporate accounting practices such as double entry bookkeeping, payroll processing, budgeting, and financial planning.
Experience
- Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with coursework or experience in tax experience preferred.
- Familiarity with accounting principles such as GAAP and concepts like financial statement preparation and analysis skills.
- Experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, or similar tools is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Excellent communication skills for effective report writing and interpretation of financial information.
