Marketing, Communications and Social Media Intern at International Venture Capital Firm
Exciting learn opportunity for a junior or senior undergraduate student to be the marketing, communications and social media intern at a new venture capital fund. The role will require approximately 5-10 hours of work, will report to directly to the founder of the company and consists of the following responsibilities:
Communications
- Read industry newsletter, summarize and create communications that will be distributed to stakeholders
- Work with management team to create though-leadership pieces. Create 3-6 minute reads that will be posted on industry websites (e.g. Medium.com)
- Manage firm communication and general inbox emails
- Work with firm leadership and IT development for website communications
- Review team communications
Social Media
- Tweet new content, retweet other posts with comments to attract followers and start discussions with the relevant community members
- Manage Twitter and Linkedin messaging and schedule posts accordingly
Marketing
- Work with firm leadership to create a marketing plan and calendar of events for planned communications
Skills Set
- Strong writing and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Someone who can be independent and be self-confident
- A responsible attitude who can work with limited guidance
- Strong project management skills to balance internship (5-10 hours of work), school responsibilities and other extra circular activities
- Someone who is comfortable working virtually and with virtual work-space tools (video conference, Microsoft Teams, etc)
- Comfortable in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Foreign languages a plus: Mandarin or Cantonese, German or French
