Feminist Majority Foundation Internship Program
The Feminist Majority Foundation offers internships throughout the year in our Washington, DC and Los Angeles office. We are currently accepting part time or full-time applications for the Summer 2020 semester (June-August). Interns are an essential part of the Feminist Majority Foundation office and perform a wide variety of responsibilities, including monitoring press conferences and coalition meetings, research, event and community organizing, organizational networking, media relations, and attending rallies. Each intern works closely with a staff member in order to learn directly from hands on experience and to contribute to substantive projects. All who are interested, including graduate and undergraduate students, are encouraged to apply.

Description of Programs
Interns in our Los Angeles, CA office have the opportunity to work in one or more of the following areas:

Feminist Campus Program - Work with FMF's campus staff to support affiliated feminist student groups on college campuses nationwide and conduct outreach to women's studies programs. Work on current campus initiatives surrounding issues such as reproductive justice, menstrual equity, immigrant rights, LGBTQ+ issues, etc.

National Clinic Access Project - Be a part of the nation's largest and oldest clinic defense team. Research and collect data on anti-abortion violence directed at health care workers and patients; monitor anti-abortion websites and literature.

Public Relations, Social Media and Development – work with a team to research and outreach to media contacts, develop press materials, and to promote FMF and Ms. on social media platforms. Must be detail-oriented, and comfortable doing phone outreach. Ability to come up with creative and timely promotional ideas a plus, although no prior experience necessary. Microsoft Excel and internet research skills a necessity; Word, Filemaker, Access, and html a plus.

Girls Learn International - Work with FMF's Girls Learn International program staff to launch GLI Chapters at high schools and middle schools in the U.S. and to identify new Partner Schools abroad. Conduct research and help develop new human rights-based curriculum for the program.

Interns in our Washington, DC office have the opportunity to work in one or more of the following areas:

Education Equity Program Work on new efforts to save Title IX, contribute to a national network to help educators increase gender equity, and develop new FMF gender equity materials.

Policy and Research Work closely with FMF's Director of Policy and Research. Monitor congressional activity, research legislation, and attend committee meetings on the Hill. 
Digital Communications Team Contribute stories to the Feminist Daily Newswire, research media contacts and strategy, and develop press materials, and launch online advocacy campaigns.

Web Team Be a part of an award-winning web team. Plan, organize, and market FMF's website; research potential partnerships with other websites, participate in online discussions of feminist topics; learn marketable skills in WordPress, and contribute new content to FMF sites. No prior web experience necessary.

Academic Credit/Stipend
For schools where academic credit is a requirement, we recommend that you speak with your academic advisor on this before submitting your application to our internship program. Interns have the opportunity to receive up to a $150 weekly stipend for their work. Paid work is not mandatory and provided on a need be basis.
