TESTIMONIALS:

I was hired on at Vortex by Jonathan Sabin as a photographic intern after gaining interest in the field through a photography class offered in my bachelor’s program.
Over the summer, I learned how to properly handle, scan, and edit analog photography. Eventually, this lead to paid photo assistant and post-production work for Jonathan’s commercial photography business, Infinity Photographic.

I currently work as a project manager and photography assistant on the VBS/Infinity team, which has allowed me to master editing software like Lightroom while learning about the technical aspects of professional photography.

I have grown as a photography student and as a professional during my time here. Jonathan is a great mentor and working with him has connected me with the community and given me to tools to grow in a field I’m truly interested in.
Lizzie Tonner, Journalism Major

Working with Jonathan Sabin was a rewarding experience that gave me the opportunity to contribute to and be a part of a successful business centered around photography. Jonathan is truly a great individual to work with; he is always willing to work around your schedule and my internship was personalized to my interests.

After finding out I'm a music enthusiast, Jonathan had me work with his collection of photographs of musicians from the 70's, including Jethro Tull and The Grateful Dead. Much of my time with Jonathan was spent organizing, scanning, and editing these photos in Lightroom, which Jonathan taught me how to use. I also got to go along on a shoot and assist with the job which involved setting up lights and different shots as well as helping with post production of the shoot.

Jonathan conducts business in a professional manner while creating a relaxed work environment where I could further advance my knowledge of photography. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to do an internship with Jonathan and would highly recommend it to anyone else.
Adrienne Olund, Photography Major

I became the photo intern for Infinity Photographic just as I was wrapping up my time as a journalism major/art minor and beginning to shift my own interests towards film photography. During the initial interview, Jonathan expressed his intention to create a relationship that is professionally beneficial to both of us.

Spending my time here organizing, scanning, and editing Jonathan’s collection of 35mm slides and negatives from throughout his life has greatly influenced my understanding of analog photography and taught me the importance of quality post-production.
Jonathan was consistently flexible with my schedule, placed family and education before work, and always willing to discuss opportunities that expand beyond the work as an intern.

Additionally, he served as a vital mentor to my progression as both a photographer and professional during my transition from being a student to entering the career field.
