Sales Engineer
Universal Industries, Inc., an established manufacturer of bulk material handling equipment, has an immediate need for full time Outside Sales Engineers. If you are a passionate sales professional this is your opportunity to join a growing company offering a competitive base salary, commission and benefits. You will be responsible for profit growth of Universal products and services in targeted accounts within specific territories. You will be required to take a sales approach with emphasis on strong account leadership skills to obtain new accounts and, in addition, you must build long-term relationships with an existing customer base selling new products. Relocation assistance may be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Generate and execute sales plans in existing customer base, and in new accounts, to meet defined territory profit increase goals.
- Work closely with current and prospective customers to understand business needs and recommend continuous improvement and improvement plans that will maintain and grow sales within assigned territory.
- Develop strong relationships with prospective customers, including plant or facility executives.
- Provide technical support to customers; identifying and resolving customer challenges, rising as required.
- Engage in problem solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data and providing written recommendations to ensure customer operations are performing at top levels.
- Actively sell and support Universal Industries, Inc. products in assigned customers to promote long-term business relationships.
- Travel within assigned sales territory.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- 4 year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial).
- Successful sales experience.
- Overnight travel required to support sales territory.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
- Experience with AutoCad and 3-D modeling (preferably SolidWorks) required.
- High computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office, and ability to learn internal business systems).
- History of working in a field that required independence and self-motivation.
- Prior experience that required excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Account leadership experience that includes calling on multi-level plant or facilities management to accomplish company sales goals.
- Prior experience that demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to multi-task.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
