Project Manager In Training

SUMMARY

· Provides technical and logistical support to all four divisions within EMG.
o   Architectural/Engineering
o   Environmental
o   Project Management
o   Asset Management
· Conducts the site visit and required assessment and/or other related services of properties in accordance with ASTM standards and/or client specific scopes of work.
· Responsible for field services and submitting quality information to suit the intended deliverable.
· Communicates all project related information to the designated Program Manager, Senior Project Manager or Senior Consultant.
· Develops increased technical and project management skills with opportunity to grow into a Project Manager.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other job related duties may be assigned in conformance with state and federal regulations.
 
· Ability to travel, on average, approximately 90% of time to client sites across the U.S. via plane and/or driving. Common patterns of travel could include several days in the field followed by one day at home. The time at home is spent completing the data for the writer or updating clients or systems on project status.
·  Conducts transactional assessments
· Conduct completion surveys of various property types involving major building components and overview of different property types
· Conducts monitoring surveys on major building condition assessments.
· Prepare quality field notes that accurately describe findings (ASTM standards and specific protocol requirements).
·  Manage day-to-day activities for program sourcing and logistic requirements.
· Coordinate and communicate activities and schedules with all vendors and internal EMG team
· Meets or exceeds performance objectives.
· Protects operations by keeping company information confidential.
· Demonstrates EMG's guiding principles in support of the company's strategic goals.
· Follows all documented policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions applicable to the position and support of EMG's quality standards.
· Maintains safe and clean work area by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
· May be required to work overtime.
· Ability to work from remote location.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience Preferred but not required a Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Engineering, Architecture, Construction or a related field; working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet research.
 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Valid driver's license is required
  • Personal credit sufficient to charge business travel expenses of up to $3,000 required.
 
Other Qualifications 
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must be able to work from a remote location
  • Must be willing to fly and live near (or be willing to relocate to) a major metropolitan area with reasonable access to a major airport. 
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with EMG employees and customers
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis in MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills including ability to perform multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to use and skillfully operate an electronic tablet efficiently in the field for live data collection is essential to this position.
