Graphic Design Intern Fall 2020

Internship Description:
Showcase your unique skillset and aesthetic style by taking charge of the visual components of the Iowa International Center! See your work on our print, digital, web, video and various communications pieces. You will work hands-on to create logos, collateral event materials and a variety of other creative products. This one-of-a-kind opportunity will enable you to promote your personal brand while also gaining real-world professional experience working for a nonprofit.

Position Description/Responsibilities:
·  Participate in concept planning, creative concept design and development
·  Creation of high resolution visual arts and images with use of Adobe Creative Suite
·  Assist with publicizing special projects and events, marketing, and content development
·  Assist with integrating designs into various media (newsletters, website, gala program, etc.)
·  Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within identified time frames
·  Organized, dependable and detail oriented
 
Qualifications:
· College student seeking professional experience and/or academic internship credit
· Background in any of the following (but not limited to): graphic design, marketing, journalism/mass communications
· Video editing and content sharing experience a plus
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills
· Ability to be self-directed and work independently while also working as part of a team
· Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities and deadlines, and maintain accurate records
· Cross-cultural living experience and/or knowledge of a foreign language preferred, but not required
 
Work Schedule:
· Internships occur during fall, spring, and summer semesters
Must commit 15-20 hours per week (unpaid); weekly schedule is negotiable and flexible
