Sales and Marketing Internship

Global Impex USA is a social incubator devoted to the ideals of teaching emerging professionals real-world business and entrepreneurship skills. What does Global Impex Do?

Global Impex USA is an international textile distributor and sourcing expert that specializes in business to business (BTB) sales in all 50 states and internationally too. The company produces large quantities of industrial, artists, medical, digital and military grade textiles and fabrics for clients who wish to create their products from the highest-grade material at the best prices creating best value. GI is a proud member of the prestigious, century-old, Industrial Fabric Association International (www.ifai.com). Global Impex USA also owns two subsidiaries, Guild Apparel & Stryv Medical, which aid the company in more specialized forms of value added products. Guild is an apparel merch company producing and decorating USA made Tee-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, etc. Guild Apparel is a crown jewel of global impex, which caters to custom merchandise/merch business for the leading NFL, NBA and MLB leading athletes. It also works with leading influencers from hit Netflix shows and more. Stryv Medical produces medical textiles made in the USA as well as scrubs, lab coats, PPE for large medical institutions and private practices. It has been a leading supplier during COVID-19 pandemic.

Job specific features of our internship program 

For our Sales and Marketing roles, we seek self-motivated individuals and GO GETTERS who are not afraid to take action and think creatively. Sales interns will receive a comprehensive learning experience from a team of business professors who have extensive experience in the international textile industry. Interns will be given the freedom to experiment and implement creative ideas that will be used everyday within the company. Throughout the course of the internship, you will be completing sales calls, attending business meetings, visiting vendors, utilizing our CRM system, and collaborating with our leadership team to achieve company goals. We believe individuals grow through experience, and we provide the platform for you to test your potential and grow!

Work environment is fun, exciting, remote, team based and part time (15-20 hours a week). The GI team is young, energetic millennials from 15 leading schools of the country. We have a family and team approach with an opportunity to collaborate with the digital marketing team, supply chain team, sourcing and logistics team, IT team, PR team and more.

Many past alums of GI are now successfully placed in many leading corporations. The owners of GI act like your life long mentors, coaches and more being college professors themselves!
 
Rewards - You will be awarded a certificate at the end of the successful completion of the program. In addition, you will receive a stipend along with a sales commission after completing the 15 week internship and will have the opportunity to gain a full-time position based on performance. You start off as a freshman intern and then move on to the role of senior intern and finally to lead and manager within 1 year based on your performance.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
 
  • Cold-calling existing and potential customers (B2B) with a minimum of 30 calls every working day
  • Developing and implementing sales strategies and opportunities
  • Working closely with other teams like digital, supply chain, PR in collaboration to support your sales efforts
  • Contacting and following up with customers, vendors, and international suppliers regularly
  • Expanding industry knowledge of all three businesses by attending educational workshops, trade shows, and networking events
  • Identifying potential customers and closing major sales opportunities through cold-calling and emailing
  • Maintaining relationships with our existing and potential customers and distributors
  • Organizing and participating in both in-person and remote meetings with customers, vendors, and international suppliers
  • Monitoring and researching the competition for pricing and product developments, forecasts, industry trends, sales/marketing techniques
  • Preparing and delivering regular sales reports and presentations
  • Resolving customer complaints and concerns in an ethical and timely manner through honesty and integrity
  • Traveling and visiting other business stores in your assigned region
