Head of Commercial Software
Synthego is looking for the Head for the Commercial Software team. The Commercial Software Team supports every part of the customers journey with Synthego. Everything from landing pages, product pages, CRISPR design tools, checkout funnels, and experimental protocols are all driven by Commercial Software.
As the Head of the Commercial Software team you will be expected to lead the team and own the development of features that both delight customers and drive business metrics. You will work closely with marketing, sales, and sales operations to define, build, and optimize a visitors experience across all our web properties. You will also lead efforts to prioritize new projects and build the roadmap for the Commercial Software team.
What You'll Do
- Manage and grow a team of software engineers to deliver high quality production-ready software that powers Synthego's commercial efforts.
- Synthesize requirements from our Marketing, Product, Sales, Sales Operations, and other internal teams into actionable components for the software team.
- Code. You will not only plan, but also help build the applications that clearly and succinctly deliver Synthego's value proposition.
- Mentor other engineers and thoughtfully review code.
- Work with our Marketing and Product teams to track and optimize the customer experience.
- Troubleshoot customer problems, address issues, and answer questions from internal teams.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree Computer Science or other relevant discipline.
- A love of all things eCommerce and a desire to solve the unique problems in the biotech space.
- Experience as a software team lead.
- 3+ years of experience with JavaScript.
- Strong UX and design sensibilities, and a desire to sweat the small stuff.
- Experience with one or more modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React, Vue)
- Experience architecting and maintaining all or parts of a web application.
- Experience with Python web frameworks (e.g. Django).
- Experience with application analytics tools (e.g. Segment, Heap, etc)
- Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative start-up environment.
Nice to Haves
- Experience with large scale eCommerce.
- Expertise with ES6.
- Experience in a microservice architecture.
- Experience with Linux.
- DevOps experience (e.g. EC2, S3, nginx, etc.).
- Experience scaling complex applications with highly-polished user experiences.
- Experience with ERP and CRM software (e.g. Netsuite, Salesforce, Hubspot, etc).
