Songtrust Marketing Internship (Summer 2019)

Founded in 2011, Songtrust, a Billboard Magazine Top Music Startup, is revolutionizing the traditional music publishing business. Our clients – ranging from indie artists to Grammy Nominees – retain 100% ownership of their copyrights and receive professional publishing administration services. Our catalog consists of over 1,000,000 songs that have been performed and recorded by premiere artists.

Our industry-leading online solutions help songwriters, artists, managers, labels and publishers simplify music rights management including the administration of music publishing assets, performing rights, and digital licensing.

Interns at Songtrust have gone on to work at Songtrust, Downtown Music Publishing, HFA, Amazon, iHeartRadio, LiveNation, Sony, Columbia, The Paramount, and more.

Songtrust is seeking Summer interns who are passionate about music and are eager to learn more about music publishing administration. This is a great opportunity to learn how music publishing really works and gain experience working in a fast-paced tech-startup environment. This internship will be for credit only.

We’re looking for someone who has an interest in marketing and learning the ins and outs of the marketing funnel from beginning to end. Our ideal candidate must have good grammar skills and should be flexible in writing copy on various types of content, an inquisitive mind who is able to work both independently on multiple ongoing projects as well as with a team on bigger campaigns in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will be professional, hard-working, and organized, who takes initiative beyond the projects given. The types of projects this candidate will work on is with editorial content, playlists, social media copy, and working on greater marketing campaigns to support the Growth team with qualifying leads.

Responsibilities:
  • Working with our marketing team in the construction of on going and new campaigns
  • Writing copy for various campaigns across multiple mediums. 
  • Create editorial content, playlists, social media copy, and working on greater marketing campaigns
  • Social Media engagement with clients and followers

Qualifications:
  • High level of respect and empathy for songwriters
  • Understanding of the music industry
  • Understanding of marketing techniques and practices 
  • Good writing skills 
  • Self-motivated and focused on finding opportunities and meeting goals
