Summer of Service Intern: Project Transformation Rio Texas

Love children? Love books? Love God? Trying to figure out what to do NEXT

College-aged young adults come to Project Transformation Rio Texas for a summer of service and vocational discernment. Throughout the summer, interns lead a day camp for elementary children where they read, create art, play, and more! Interns live in community, engage in leadership development, and discover opportunities in ministry and service.

Project Transformation’s faith-based summer of service internship program for young adults offers hands-on opportunities to build mutually enriching relationships with children in low socioeconomic areas, live in intentional community, experience cultural diversity, and explore various careers in ministry and service.

Are you up for this? Project Transformation is for you if:
  • You are a highly motivated self-starter
  • You believe in the power of diversity and open-mindedness
  • You love God and neighbor above all else
  • You believe in hearing others’ stories, owning your own story, and living beyond comfort zones
  • You believe in the silliness of childhood, creativity, smiles, and that “they are all our children”

Project Transformation Rio Texas is an United Methodist-affiliated ministry that provides leadership development and ministry exploration opportunities to college-age young adults. Working with churches in low-income neighborhoods in San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley areas of Texas, these emerging leaders coordinate community-oriented programs for children in these low-income neighborhoods. In the process, we connect site churches with their neighborhoods, and unite partner churches in mission.
