Product Development Engineer (High Performance Computing - HPC Group) (Req 119199)

Responsibilities:
The BBP High Performance Computing (HPC) group operates in the very challenging environment of the rapidly evolving semiconductor industry. The group develops computing infrastructure to support cutting edge image processing and data analytics that is a key component in KLA-Tencor’s Wafer Inspection Systems. These computing infrastructures must be designed to meet demanding and sometimes conflicting constraints on cost, performance, reliability, and serviceability. 
This HPC infrastructure design engineering position will report to the HPC group. This engineer will collect system requirements, design and prototype infrastructure systems, as well as perform system integrations. This position will engage vendors to select HW components and infrastructure SW. In addition, this position will release the design to MFG and Service organizations by providing procedures and training. 
This position is a unique combination of computing HW hands-on and computing infrastructure SW engineering that is challenged to deliver cost effective and reliable HPC solutions to advance KT’s wafer inspection capabilities. The successful applicant will work with a group of talented engineers and be mentored by senior engineers to gain cutting edge HPC technology and to enhance industrial skills and experience.

Qualifications:
Knowledge in computer architecture. Hands-on experience with computing hardware. Experience in Linux cluster management is a plus.Knowledge in Linux and its administration with scripting capability to automate repetitive tasks. Linux kernel experience is a plus.
Skills in Linux OS component selection and package, VM and Container creations is a plus.
Knowledge or experience in cloud computing technology, such as OpenStack, CEPH, is a plus
Excellent problem analysis and solving skills. Strong desire to learn latest compute infrastructure technology and apply to real world problems.
Good written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Level Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other relevant engineering field
OR
Bachelor's Level Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other relevant engineering field, with at least 2 years of related experience.
