AIPAC Fellow: 2 Year Position in Development - Fundraising - Sales - Relationship Building


Summary
The AIPAC Fellows program is an innovative initiative offering recent college graduates (0 – 2 years) the opportunity to help build AIPAC’s base of committed pro-Israel advocates. AIPAC will select highly motivated fellows who will be tasked with meeting prospective AIPAC stakeholders in order to explain the value of AIPAC, convey the urgency of growing and strengthening the U.S.-Israel relationship, and solicit donations. Fellows will receive advanced solicitation training and deep insight into policy affecting the Middle East. Fellows will receive an annual salary package and benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and set up a minimum of 15 meetings with prospective AIPAC donors
  • Present the AIPAC mission and the imperative for investment to individuals through face-to-face solicitations.
  • Solicit prospective donors and communicate with AIPAC Fellows staff on outcomes of each meeting
  • Attend networking events to identify prospective AIPAC donors and develop relationship networks
  • Achieve monthly fundraising goal through one-on-one solicitations
  • Cold call 150 individuals a day to arrange meetings with prospective AIPAC donors
  • Meet regularly with AIPAC Fellows staff to ensure metrics are being met and build on strategies for further success
  • Keep current and maintain professional knowledge on developments affecting the Middle East, Israel, Congress and the U.S.-Israel relationship
  • Record meeting activity, complete reports and maintain relationship information in the AIPAC database system
  • Share pertinent donor information and donor prospects with AIPAC Regional Staff
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions to develop relationship building and fundraising skills as well as share best practices
  • Work closely with the local Fellows Manager to review performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
  • A strong passion for, and commitment to, strengthening the U.S.-Israel relationship
  • A desire to advocate, solicit and build meaningful relationships with prospective members
  • Proven leadership and involvement on campus and/or the community
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and with a team
  • Possess a high energy level and be extremely goal-oriented
  • Approach opportunities and challenges with confidence and determination
  • Resilience and the ability to cope with rejection
  • Must be able to work in a demanding environment and able to quickly adjust to changing conditions.
  • A commitment of 2 years to the AIPAC Fellows Program
  • Attend a one month training program in Washington, D.C. starting July 10, 2010*

*Fellows Program candidates must successfully complete the training program in July to receive a formal and final offer for the 2 year program*
