Senior Accountant

Position Summary:
The Senior Staff Accountant will support the Accounting Department by performing key accounting work in a fast paced and growing company.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Perform month end closing activities in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepare, review and analyze account reconciliations of business units
  • Complete monthly reporting packages to corporate
  • Provide responses to requests for business unit accounting information
  • Work closely with other departments and business units regarding accounting activities
  • Identify and resolve financial, reporting and business unit matters
  • Review staff accountants work product, provide guidance and follow through
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations
  • Provide and interpret financial information
  • Prepare analyses and reports as requested by management
  • Perform monthly calculations and journal entries
  • Record intercompany activity
  • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns
  • Provide audit support and review
  • Support the department with special projects
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Ensure department deadlines are met

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5-8 years accounting experience, some corporate or public accounting experience preferred
  • Progressive responsibility in accounting
  • Experience with financial reporting under corporate governance
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work with deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to partner with and maintain relationships both internally and externally
  • Accounting computer systems experience, preferably Great Plains
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
