Social Media Intern


(Contact Internship and Career Advisor to see if position is eligible for academic credit)
Responsibilities:
  • Create and post original content on Facebook and twitter.
  • Responsible for generating followers and social media presence.
  • Assist in creation of blog upkeep and medium posts.
  • Upkeep on the website (candidate features, load blog posts, mentions, etc).
  • Draft emails (fundraising, partners, candidate, etc).
  • Read drafts of anything Directors post.
  • Assist with additional responsibilities as needed
Experience:
  • Experience on Twitter, Facebook, and other mediums
  • Excellent written skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite a plus
Expectations and Benefits of the First Ask Internship:
  • Learn the ins and outs of campaigns, community organizing, and grassroots organizations.
  • Participate in weekly all-staff calls to discuss goals, news, etc
  • Connect to people that work in your field at different organizations
  • Attend events through and for First Ask (fundraisers, partner events, etc)
  • Weekly 1:1 with a Co-Director
  • Weekly lunch/coffee with a woman that excels in her field to learn about that field
Students may receive course credit for internship. Staff will work with the school/advisor on achieving desired learning outcomes and completing all necessary paperwork.
