Social Media Intern
(Contact Internship and Career Advisor to see if position is eligible for academic credit)
Responsibilities:
- Create and post original content on Facebook and twitter.
- Responsible for generating followers and social media presence.
- Assist in creation of blog upkeep and medium posts.
- Upkeep on the website (candidate features, load blog posts, mentions, etc).
- Draft emails (fundraising, partners, candidate, etc).
- Read drafts of anything Directors post.
- Assist with additional responsibilities as needed
Experience:
- Experience on Twitter, Facebook, and other mediums
- Excellent written skills
- Attention to detail
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite a plus
Expectations and Benefits of the First Ask Internship:
- Learn the ins and outs of campaigns, community organizing, and grassroots organizations.
- Participate in weekly all-staff calls to discuss goals, news, etc
- Connect to people that work in your field at different organizations
- Attend events through and for First Ask (fundraisers, partner events, etc)
- Weekly 1:1 with a Co-Director
- Weekly lunch/coffee with a woman that excels in her field to learn about that field
Students may receive course credit for internship. Staff will work with the school/advisor on achieving desired learning outcomes and completing all necessary paperwork.
