Organizing Intern
Responsibilities:
- Work with Directors to create curriculum, timeline, job description and expectations for LEAP
- Use organizing tactics to find volunteers in each state and district to be LEAP advocates.
- Lead weekly calls/webinars and monthly trainings for LEAP participants
- Conduct outreach to leads in states for names of volunteers/candidates
- Assist with additional responsibilities as needed
- Conduct research about qualities in successful officeholders.
- Research election filing requirements for each office.
- Research recent special elections and elections of first-time women candidates
- Manage contact list of candidates, partners, pals, etc.
- Maintain calendar of events/deadlines
Experience:
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience training groups.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple timelines at once.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite a plus
- Ability to synthesize information into concise summaries
- Strong attention to detail
- Organizing experience desirable but not required.

- Learn the ins and outs of campaigns, community organizing, and grassroots organizations.
- Participate in weekly all-staff calls to discuss goals, news, etc
- Connect to people that work in your field at different organizations
- Attend events through and for First Ask (fundraisers, partner events, etc)
- Weekly 1:1 with a Co-Director
- Weekly lunch/coffee with a woman that excels in her field to learn about that field
Staff will work with the school/advisor on achieving desired learning outcomes and completing all necessary paperwork.
