Position Overview
The power scheduler will be work in Invenergy’s 24 hour operations center and will report to the Manager of Power Market Operations. The Power Scheduler will work with Invenergy’s wind, solar, energy storage, and natural gas generation fleet. 

Responsibilities
  • Bidding projects into power markets and making dispatch communications to our customers
  • Monitoring prices of power markets and making economic decisions about which sites should be generating electricity
  • Analyzing market data to look for opportunities in the markets
  • Assisting others in 24 hour center with monitoring and resetting of wind turbines, outage scheduling, and communications with power markets, customers, and generating sites
  • Position will be on a rotating shift that will require the person to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Required Skills
  • Bachelors Degree in an analytical field such as engineering, economics, or finance; or Associates degree and 2 years of experience in energy business
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, ability to write macros a plus
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and under tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to become certified as a system operator in various power markets
  • Experience with computer programs such as PI, or experience in power markets such as ERCOT, PJM, NYISO, or MISO a plus
