Summer Teaching Internship

Classical Charter Schools is a National Blue Ribbon Award-winning network of charter schools located in the South Bronx. Though our neighborhoods are historically under-served, we provide a world-class, well-rounded education to our scholars through a classical curriculum that includes art, music, Latin, debate and character education.

Classical is excited to be hiring for it’s second-ever class Summer Teaching Interns. This is an exciting opportunity for 6 Juniors (Class of 2020) interested in educational equity to spend 7 weeks at one of the highest performing schools in the country, during our Summer Learning Academy for scholars from Kindergarten to Eighth Grade. Upon successful completion of the internship, high-performing interns will receive an offer to join our prestigious ClassiCorps Teaching Fellowship, to which only 3% of general applicants are admitted annually.

 

Interns will help prepare the school for Summer Learning Academy, receive training and coaching in instruction and classroom management, participate in all aspects of the school during the day and lead the after-school program focused on inquiry-based learning. Interns will also participate in a number of network wide projects, including enrollment and family engagement, curricular planning, data analysis and school setup. Interns must be on track to graduate in the spring of 2020, and have a GPA of 3.5 or better.
