Interpreter (Multiple Locations)

Help share the story of historic Auburn Heights and the Auburn Mill Historic District with the public. In this position you will conduct formal historic education programs, utilizing information from primary and secondary historical resources focused on Auburn Heights area, transportation, and industrialization. The primary park need is for interpretative programming and interpretive program design, but opportunities also exist to gain experience in research, collections management/maintenance, and historic site administration. The internship provides the candidate historical interpretive experience, practice in public speaking, and hands-on experience in operation of a historical park. Additional opportunities exist to gain experience with environmental education programming on the site as well. Additional information on the park and programs is available by request.

AmeriCorps Educational Award (optional): Interns engaged in Education, Management, Administration, or Environmental Stewardship are eligible to receive an AmeriCorps Education Award upon completion of their service if they choose. The award amount varies and is based on the total number of hours served. The award can be used for educational expenses including tuition, student loans, books, and other fees for up to 7 years after completion of service.
