Summer Camp Business Intern

The Business Intern will support the Camp Program Administrator and Camp Program Manager with registration paperwork, Sunday check-in, Friday check-out and program coordination. This unique program will allow volunteers to get “hands on” experience with people on the autism spectrum, while also helping with day to day logistics of running a summer camp. The Business Intern will be assisting in logistics, administration, etc. Duties include but are not limited to creating intake packets for participants, printing and checking registration paperwork, answering parent questions over the phone and via email, and availability to assist with general summer camp logistics. Weekly stipend and free room and board.

This internship program has been thoughtfully designed as a transformational learning experience for emerging leaders and industry professionals. It begins with an immersive 10-day training program that is facilitated by a diverse team of experts. This includes indoor and outdoor components, as well as a multi-day camping trip, aimed at meeting the needs of all learning styles. (Don’t worry, we have had many successful interns who had never been camping before Ascendigo). 

This training will emphasize elements of: Experiential Education & Outdoor Leadership, Therapeutic Recreation, Naturalistic Behavior Intervention, Communication, Adaptive Sports Instruction, & so much more. After they complete training, your students will get to work one-to-one with people on the autism spectrum and gain the hands-on experience they need to be successful in their future employment endeavors.

Interns at Ascendigo will also have the opportunity to acquire multiple professional certifications, and gain experience in program development & logistics. A weekly stipend is provided as well as room and board throughout the summer program. Most importantly though, the friendships and memories made here in the Rocky Mountains will last a lifetime!
