Job Summary
The Manager in Training (MIT) position is an entry level training program for recent college graduates and individuals with relative experience to learn about the swimming pool supply, irrigation and landscape distribution industry. We are looking for passionate, assertive recent graduates willing to relocate to join our leadership team. Immediate opportunities upon completion of the program include Operations Management and B2B Sales with continued training and career growth.

*This position is located throughout the US as well as Canada.*
 
Responsibilities:
  • Receives hands on training and performs duties in every area of the distribution center including Operations, Inside and Outside Sales, Management, and Purchasing.
  • Observes experienced employees to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards of performance for a successful sales center.
  • Shadows contractors/builders, service/maintenance, and retail store customers to learn their aspect of the swimming pool, irrigation and landscaping business.
  • Participates in classroom training sessions (lecture, role play and computer lab) at the EDGEucation Center in Plano, Texas. Topics to include operations, sales, financials, human capital management and operating systems. 
  • Learns management viewpoints and company policies and procedures that affect each phase of business.
  • Sets and achieves performance goals and objectives with Manager Trainee Program Manager.   
  • Informs sales center manager of training lessons and concepts learned after each visit to the EDGEucation Center.   
  • Gives comprehensive presentation to senior level management for completion of the MIT program.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Management, Selling & Sales Management, Marketing or other related discipline with a minimum of 2.5 GPA.
  • Distribution or sales internship preferred.
  • Results driven, self-starter with the ability to lead a team with rapidly changing priorities. Strong leadership skills are a must!
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.  
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change and uncertainty.
  • Ability to speak effectively to customers, employees and all levels of management.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite with ability to learn inventory system and additional software.  
  • Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; no drug or alcohol related convictions on driving record in the past 3 years.
  • Affiliation with Supply Chain Management Association, Delta Sigma Pi, Pi Sigma Epsilon, APICS a plus.
  • Possess and demonstrate a motivated, passionate, customer service driven attitude.
  • Willingness and ability to relocate during and after the program (at company expense) for career development opportunities.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
