Controls Engineer
Job Description:
As a Controls Engineer you will work with teams to develop real-time embedded aircraft engine control and prognostic systems. The Controls Engineer will focus on the identification, evaluation and maturation of new technologies to improve performance, thermal management, power off-take and prognostic health management
Essential Responsibilities:
The Controls Engineer position requires an intrinsically motivated individual ready to take on new challenges and exceed our customer commitments. As a Controls Engineer, you will:
- Partner with controls, software and systems teams to learn and develop selected technologies
- Define, design, document, analyze and test assigned components, assemblies or systems
- Actively participate in design reviews
- Provide timely communication on progress and significant issues
- Work closely with engineering teams, vendors and partners to ensure interoperability and speedy resolution of control system integration issues
- Prepare invention disclosures to protect new technology
Desired Characteristics:
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience with real-time embedded control systems integration
- Experience with desktop simulations in NPSS
- Familiarity with:
- Model Based Development tools such as: MATLAB / Simulink, SCADE, BEACON
- Requirements Management: DOORS
- Software Configuration Management: ClearCase
- Synergy / Change
- Gas turbine performance
- Aircraft engine actuators and sensors
- Fuel and hydraulic systems
Qualifications/Requirements:
BS or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, IT or equivalent degree from an accredited university
Eligibility Requirements:
This role requires use of data subject to US government contract restrictions.
- US Citizenship is required
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
