Operations Summer 2019 Interns

DREAM (formerly known as Harlem RBI), an award winning sports-based youth development program is seeking a dynamic, motivated individual to serve as Operations Interns during the summer of 2019.
 
Like all DREAM staff, the Operations Interns should demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of DREAM and should have substantial expertise in all areas of responsibility.   • High School Operations Intern
  • Elementary/Middle School Operations Intern

I. Elementary/Middle School Operations Intern:
  • Enrollment and registration of new students to DREAM PreK – 8
  • Communication to families when seats are offered (phone calls and emails)
  • Tracking if families accept or decline the seat
  • If accept, communicate to families the documentation needed to secure the seat
  • Create files for new students
  • 2019 August Institute support with planning
  • Support School ops with organization and prep for beginning of year projects
  • Organize beginning of year classroom supply orders
  • Audit returning student files, ensuring we have all documentation that is required
  • Assist with shredding secure documents
 
II. High School Operations Interns:
  • Assist with high school enrollment process and work with members of operations team to develop and drive strategy to meet enrollment targets for the 2019-2020 school year. This will include tasks such as
  • Creating an electronic file to track students information
  • Making phone calls to families
  • Collecting necessary documents to enroll students
  • Working with school related online programs such as ATS, School Mint

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be a student at an accredited 2 or 4-year university;
  • Ability to apply a problem- solving approach based on logic and critical thinking;
  • Comfortably converse with vendors and other outside stakeholders;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (specifically Word);
  • Organize information and design accessible ways to share it;
  • Ability to commit to a consistent schedule;
  • Customer service skills;
  • Team player;
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred);

HOURS: 25-35 hours per week. Schedule is flexible.
COMPENSATION: Unpaid but course credit or volunteer arrangements are available.
