Athletic, Health, and Wellness Summer 2019 Interns

DREAM (formerly known as Harlem RBI), an award winning sports-based youth development program, is seeking a dynamic, motivated individual to serve as Athletics Health and Wellness Interns during the summer of 2019

Like all DREAM staff, the Athletics Health and Wellness Interns should demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of DREAM and should have substantial expertise in all areas of responsibility. Baseball and Softball: 2 positions (1-South Bronx Program/ 1-East Harlem Program)
Baseball and Softball NYC RB
 
I. Baseball and Softball
Collect summer employee evaluations;
Create a spreadsheet with employee evaluation scores twice throughout the summer;
Assist with the day-to-day operation of our summer camp;
Assist with day-to-day activities of elementary school summer athletics, health and wellness programming:
Help with logistics and field supervision;

II. Baseball and Softball NYC RBI
Assist with NYCRBI revamp of the NYCRBI Paperwork/Registration Process;
Perform Game Management duties;
Assist with running the NYC MLB Urban Youth Academy at Roberto Clemente Park;
Support with filing and uploading all NYCRBI League paperwork;
Assist with special events such as Opening Day, Champ Day, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Student at 2 or 4-year accredited institution;
0-3 years of experience;
Sports background/knowledge;
Baseball/softball knowledge preferred;
Ability to mentor;
Team player;
Certifications(s): CPR/AED/First Aid;
MUST be able to work weekends;
Prepared and Organized;
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Knowledge of Microsoft/Excel;
Baseball/softball knowledge preferred;
Youth development interest/experience.

HOURS: 25-40 hours per week. Weekday/ Weekend Schedule
COMPENSATION: Unpaid but course credit or volunteer arrangements are available.
