Camp Adventure Child and Youth Services Intern

Camp Adventure Child and Youth Services is a service-learning program at the University of Northern Iowa. The Camp Adventure Youth Services program provides opportunities to serve children and youth in child development programs and school-age centers under the direction of Camp Adventure staff and Military Points of Contact, and to integrate theory with practice, develop new knowledge, skills and competencies in compliance with military child care guidelines, as well as to be a part of a worthwhile endeavor.

If you would like to serve children and youth overseas, internships are available in the Spring and Fall semesters, as well as Summer, working with Child Development Centers and School-Age Programs on U.S. military installations in Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain Bahrain, Japan, Okinawa, California, Florida, and Hawaii. The program in the Spring and Fall Terms provide services primarily to infants, toddlers and preschool; summer opportunities are also available. Students are well supervised by both Camp Adventure staff and Military Points of Contact. This internship provides related experience working with children, while networking with one of the country’s largest employers, the Department of Defense.

Qualifications:
Must have completed at least 2 semesters of college coursework with a cumulative GPA of 2.6 or greater. Must have experience working with children in a professional group setting. Our organization requires students to take this internship for credit, a partial scholarship is provided each student. Must be a US citizen. Must be able to clear state and federal background check
