Finance/Audit Internship

CommScope is offering an opportunity for select students, seeking degrees in accounting or finance, to join our Finance/Audit Internship Program. The intern will gain exposure to multiple finance and business teams within CommScope.
 
 The intern will rotate through several areas of the finance organization to gain knowledge in various finance functional areas and processes. Possible rotational areas include commercial decision support, general accounting, financial reporting, cost accounting, accounts payable, customer financial services, investor relations, treasury, tax and internal audit.
 
 ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assists with preparation of federal and state income tax returns, quarterly income tax provision items, estimated tax payments, tax account reconciliations, and tax basis balance sheet items.
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information for use in income tax return filings and transfer pricing projects.
  • Research and respond to taxing authority inquiries.
  • Prepares Excel and PowerPoint reports and presentations.
  • Execute audit procedures (reviews transactions and source documents analyzes internal controls) and document results of testing. 
  • Obtain working knowledge of audit software, data interrogation tools, and documentation standards.
  • Assists with and supports special projects as needed.
 
 Skills & Education 
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university.
  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior (if pursuing Master’s immediately upon graduation) standing preferable.
  • G.P.A. 3.0 or higher.
  • Proficient in Excel (V-look ups, pivot tables, graphs, charts, etc.).
  
Desired Skills and Competencies: 
  • Solid basic understanding of finance and accounting terms and concepts.
  • Plans to obtain a Certified Public Accounting accreditation highly desirable.
  • Possesses a high-energy level, strong work ethic and desire to learn.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills Maintains the ability to complete tasks on time and perform well under time constraints.
