Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative

OBJECTIVE: Provide Commercial Insurance support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding, and servicing commercial insurance accounts and in maintaining excellent relationships between coworkers, salespeople, and insurance companies.
 
DUTIES:
  1. Rate and quote new and renewal Commercial Lines risks as assigned.
  2. Screen, place, and process Commercial Lines applications as assigned and complete applications as needed.
  3. Review applications, renewal requests, and endorsements for compliance with underwriting authority and guidelines, as authorized by our companies.
  4. Market prospective accounts to our insurance companies.
  5. Contact assigned customers to update the information in our files and recommend coverage changes as needed.
  6. Prepare samples of policies, endorsements, binders, and certificates when needed.
  7. Issue endorsements when we are authorized to do so by the insurance company.
  8. Assist the producer with new and renewal proposals and coverage summaries.
  9. Prepare and authorize ID cards for auto risks when needed.
  10. Handle telephone requests and miscellaneous correspondence such as mortgagee requests, certificates, additional insured, and so forth.
  11. Process cancellation requests.
  12. Rate and compute additional or return premium on endorsements
  13. On receipt of company-produced policies and endorsements, review for accuracy and request corrections when needed.
  14. Input and update computer files with any new or renewal endorsement or cancellation type of changes.
  15. Be aware of rate, form, coverage, and underwriting changes.
  16. Arrange, compute, and prepare premium finance contracts and company financing as needed.
  17. Track and collect premium payments from customers and lenders.
  18. Participate in seminars and classes for skill, knowledge, and professional development. Because the job requires licensing as an agent, maintain continuing-education requirements.
  19. Perform other duties as required and assigned.
 
AUTHORITY
  1. Bind new policies and endorsements within the binding authority granted by the insurance companies that we represent.
  2. Insurance company contact as needed.
  3. Salesperson contact as needed or required.
  4. Responsibility for maintaining customer files and customer contact as needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  1. College Degree (Associate's or higher)
  2. Active Property & Casualty Insurance Producer license (State of Nebraska)
